Islamabad, September 12, 2026: Pakistan’s Ambassador-designate to China, Ambassador Ali Asad Gilani, called on Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Friday.
The Deputy Prime Minister congratulated Ambassador-designate Gilani on his appointment and underscored the special importance Pakistan attaches to its time-tested relationship with China.
Ishaq Dar emphasized the need to further deepen the Pakistan-China All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership across a broad range of areas, including trade and investment, connectivity, the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), agriculture, science and technology, education and people-to-people exchanges.
Appreciating Gilani’s services as Additional Secretary (Asia Pacific), the Deputy Prime Minister expressed confidence that his experience would contribute to further strengthening the enduring partnership between the two countries.
He also wished Ambassador-designate Gilani a successful tenure in Beijing.
