Birmingham, September 12, 2026: Pakistan’s 21-year-old Razaullah has joined an elite group of cricketers after taking four wickets and scoring more than 90 runs on his Test debut against England at Edgbaston.
Razaullah was among seven players drafted into Pakistan’s squad for the third and final Test following the team’s heavy defeats in the opening two matches at Headingley and Lord’s.
The right-handed batter and right-arm pacer scored 11 off 11 balls in his first Test innings. He then made an immediate impact with the ball, claiming four wickets for 148 runs in 23 overs, including the prized dismissal of England captain Joe Root.
Razaullah saved his best for Pakistan’s second innings, smashing nine sixes and four fours in an entertaining 81 off just 63 deliveries.
Although he went wicketless in England’s second innings as the hosts completed an eight-wicket victory, his all-round performance earned him a place on an exclusive list of players who have scored more than 90 runs and taken at least four wickets on Test debut.
The list includes Willie Bates of England, Albert Trott of Australia, New Zealand’s Bruce Taylor, Tony Greig of South Africa and West Indies great Jimmy Adams.
Razaullah is the first player in the 21st century to achieve the feat on Test debut.
