Islamabad, December 10, 2024: Pakistan has strongly condemned Israel’s aggression against Syria and its illegal seizure of Syrian territory, calling it a blatant violation of international law and UN Security Council resolutions.

In a press statement, the Foreign Office Spokesperson termed the assault on Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity a “grave breach of international law” and a dangerous provocation in an already volatile region. “Israel continues to flagrantly defy international law and disregard UN Security Council Resolutions,” the statement added.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s support for Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, the statement rejected the acquisition of territory by force. Pakistan underscored its adherence to UN Security Council Resolution 497, which declares Israel’s annexation of the Golan Heights “null and void and without international legal effect.”

The Foreign Office urged the international community, particularly the United Nations Security Council, to take immediate action against Israel’s repeated violations of international law and its aggressive policies in the region.

Pakistan reiterated that lasting peace in the Middle East could only be achieved with Israel’s complete withdrawal from all occupied territories, including Palestine and the Syrian Golan Heights.
