Mumbai, December 18, 2024: Aamir Khan’s Laapata Ladies, a highly anticipated film produced under the banner of Aamir Khan Productions, has been excluded from consideration for the 2024 Oscars. Despite its unique storyline and critical acclaim, the film did not make it to the final list of India’s official Oscar submissions.

The exclusion has disappointed fans and industry insiders alike, as the film was regarded as a strong contender for international recognition. Many praised its progressive narrative and cinematic excellence, which seemed well-suited for global accolades. Aamir Khan Productions, known for delivering critically acclaimed hits such as Lagaan and Dangal, had high hopes for the movie’s international journey.

In response to the Oscar snub, Aamir Khan Productions released an official statement expressing gratitude for the overwhelming support the film has received. “We are incredibly proud of the journey of Laapata Ladies and the conversations it has sparked. While we hoped for recognition at the Oscars, we respect the decision of the selection committee and extend our best wishes to the chosen films,” the statement read.

The production house reaffirmed its commitment to meaningful and impactful cinema, emphasizing that Laapata Ladies has already resonated with audiences and will continue to shine on other prestigious platforms. “Our focus remains on telling stories that connect deeply with people. Laapata Ladies has touched many hearts, and we are confident it will continue to do so globally,” the statement added.

Aamir Khan, known for his thoughtful approach to filmmaking, encouraged the team to remain optimistic and explore new opportunities for the film. Fans have also shown unwavering support, praising the movie’s bold themes and artistic merit.

Despite the setback, Aamir Khan Productions remains undeterred, looking forward to future projects with renewed determination, ensuring that its legacy of quality storytelling continues.
