Islamabad, December 23, 2024: The underpass at Jinnah Avenue near F-8 Sector in Islamabad, completed in a remarkable 42 days, is set to open for traffic tomorrow, announced Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi during his visit to the project site on Monday.
During his inspection of the F-8 Exchange Chowk underpass and Serena Chowk interchange projects, Naqvi commended the swift progress and efficient execution of these critical infrastructure developments, aimed at easing traffic congestion in the capital.
The minister also revealed that the Serena Chowk Interchange, another vital project, is nearing completion and will be inaugurated next month after being built in a record 60 days. Emphasizing the importance of timely delivery, he instructed project teams to ensure adherence to deadlines while protecting the city’s greenery and minimizing environmental impact.
“These projects will bring significant relief to commuters, improving traffic flow and enhancing the quality of life for Islamabad’s residents,” Naqvi stated.
Last week, Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa confirmed the December 25 opening date for the Jinnah Avenue underpass. During his site visit, Randhawa reviewed progress alongside consultants, designers, and project teams, who briefed him on the status of construction.
The timely completion of these projects marks a major step forward in Islamabad’s urban development, reflecting a commitment to efficient infrastructure and better traffic management for the city’s growing population.
