Rawalpindi, January 13, 2025: The decision in the £190 million corruption reference against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, has been postponed yet again. The court has rescheduled the verdict announcement to January 17.

Judge Nasir Javed Rana stated that two messages were sent to Imran Khan, requesting his presence in the courtroom, but he failed to appear. The judge remarked, “We have been waiting continuously for two hours. I have been in the courtroom since 8:30 AM, yet neither the PTI founder, his lawyers, nor any family members have arrived. We are granting them one more opportunity.”

Both Bushra Bibi and the PTI founder’s legal representatives were also absent during the court proceedings.

Reacting to the delay, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan rejected rumors of a deal and demanded an immediate verdict in the case. Speaking to the media outside Adiala Jail, alongside PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja, Barrister Gohar criticized the postponement as a violation of the rule of law. Salman Akram Raja also dismissed speculation of any agreement, reiterating the party’s stance against delaying the legal process.
