Islamabad, February 12, 2025: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is set to arrive in Islamabad today for a two-day visit at the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. His visit aims to strengthen bilateral relations and expand economic cooperation between Pakistan and Türkiye.

Accompanied by a high-level delegation comprising ministers, senior officials, and corporate leaders, President Erdogan will be warmly received upon arrival. His visit follows a recent meeting with President Asif Ali Zardari during a brief stop at Istanbul Airport, where both leaders discussed bilateral ties and matters of mutual interest.

A key highlight of the visit will be the seventh meeting of the Pakistan-Türkiye High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council (HLSCC), which President Erdogan will co-chair alongside Prime Minister Shehbaz. The meeting is expected to conclude with a joint declaration and the signing of several agreements and Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs). The two leaders will also address a joint press conference.

Additionally, President Erdogan will hold separate meetings with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari. He is also scheduled to address the Pakistan-Türkiye Business and Investment Forum, where leading investors and business figures from both countries will explore new avenues of cooperation.

The HLSCC serves as the highest decision-making platform between Pakistan and Türkiye, guiding strategic cooperation across various sectors, including trade, investment, banking, defence, energy, culture, and technology. Since its inception, six meetings have been held, with the last session taking place in Islamabad on February 13-14, 2020.

Pakistan and Türkiye share a deep-rooted historical and fraternal bond. President Erdogan’s visit and the upcoming HLSCC session are expected to further solidify these ties and expand multi-dimensional collaboration between the two nations.
