Islamabad, September 9, 2024-Islamabad Police have arrested Barrister Gohar Khan, Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Member of the National Assembly, along with Chief Whip Amir Dogar. The arrests stem from allegations of violating the No Objection Certificate (NOC) for a public rally held last evening on the outskirts of Islamabad.
Earlier, the police also detained Sher Afzal Khan Marwat, another Member of the National Assembly, and renowned lawyer Shoaib Shaheen. Authorities expect additional arrests, with concerns that Leader of the Opposition Umar Ayub Khan, Parliamentary Leader Zartaj Gul, and Islamabad Region President Amir Mughal might also face detention for similar violations.
