Kalat, February 16, 2025: Levies personnel was martyred, and two others sustained injuries in a terrorist attack on a security checkpost in Balochistan’s Kalat district on Sunday.

According to security sources, armed assailants opened fire on the checkpost but fled after facing retaliation from security forces. A search operation has been launched in the area to apprehend the attackers.

Balochistan government spokesperson Shahid Rind confirmed that the injured personnel have been shifted to Quetta for medical treatment, while authorities have initiated an investigation into the incident.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned the attack, paying tribute to martyred personnel Ali Nawaz and praying for the swift recovery of the injured.

“The terrorists are enemies of Balochistan’s progress and development. Their nefarious designs will not be allowed to succeed,” he stated.

Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti also denounced the attack and ordered an inquiry into the incident, vowing that those responsible would be brought to justice.
