Dubai, March 2, 2025: Matt Henry’s sensational five-wicket haul helped New Zealand restrict India to 249/9 in their 50 overs during the 12th match of the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday.

Opting to bowl first, New Zealand’s bowlers delivered an exceptional performance, dismantling India’s top order early in the innings. Matt Henry and Kyle Jamieson removed both Rohit Sharma (15) and Shubman Gill (2) within the first 10 overs. Playing his 300th One-Day International, Virat Kohli (11) was dismissed after Glenn Phillips took a stunning catch to end his innings.

Despite losing early wickets, India managed to post 249/9 thanks to crucial contributions from the middle order. However, New Zealand’s disciplined bowling attack and sharp fielding prevented any major partnerships from flourishing.

With a chaseable target of 250, New Zealand will look to capitalize on their bowling success and secure an important win in the tournament. On the other hand, India will rely on their spin attack and pace bowlers to defend the total.
