Islamabad, January 4,2025: India has granted visas to only 100 out of the 500 Pakistani pilgrims permitted for the annual Urs of Hazrat Khawaja Moinuddin Chishti at Ajmer Sharif, leaving 400 pilgrims disappointed.
A spokesperson from Pakistan’s Ministry of Religious Affairs confirmed the visa refusal, expressing disappointment over the exclusion of a significant number of Pakistani devotees eager to participate in the religious event.
The Urs, a major religious gathering at the shrine of Hazrat Khawaja Moinuddin Chishti in Ajmer, India, is set to take place soon. The 100 approved pilgrims are scheduled to depart for Ajmer Sharif via Wagah border on January 5.
Despite the limited number of visas granted, the spokesperson reassured that efforts would continue to facilitate further participation of Pakistani pilgrims in the revered religious occasion.
