Dubai, February 20, 2025: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has drawn criticism for omitting the host nation’s name, Pakistan, from the Champions Trophy 2025 logo during India’s match against Bangladesh in Dubai.
The inconsistency was noticed as two different logos were used in the first two matches of the tournament. In the opening match between Pakistan and New Zealand in Karachi, the logo prominently displayed Pakistan as the host. However, during India’s match in Dubai, the host nation’s name was missing from the broadcast and live-streaming visuals.
Pakistan is hosting its first major multi-nation cricket tournament in nearly three decades, but India, citing security concerns, has opted to play its matches in the UAE.
The omission sparked backlash on social media, with many users on X (formerly Twitter) accusing the ICC of bias and questioning the rationale behind the change.
