Islamabad, March 12, 2025: Security has been heightened across Pakistan’s capital in response to the deadly attack on the Jaffar Express in Balochistan. Authorities have swiftly reinforced security, particularly around sensitive government installations, to prevent any potential threats.

Security around the Islamabad Police Lines has been significantly tightened, with roads adjacent to the Police Lines and the Inspector General’s office blocked off. Additional police commandos have been deployed, while concrete barriers and barbed wire have been placed outside key locations as part of enhanced security measures. Officials have emphasized that these precautions are necessary due to the ongoing security threat posed by the attackers and the broader concerns arising from the incident.

Authorities have assured the public that these security measures are temporary and will be adjusted based on the evolving situation. Law enforcement agencies remain on high alert and are working diligently to maintain order while responding to any further threats.

The heightened security comes in direct response to the attack on the Jaffar Express, which has unsettled both local authorities and the general public. The attack, carried out by heavily armed terrorists in Balochistan’s Bolan district, led to a massive security operation. According to security officials, 27 militants were killed, and over 150 hostages were rescued during the clearance operation, which continues in the area.

The Jaffar Express, carrying more than 400 passengers in nine bogies, was traveling from Quetta to Peshawar when it was ambushed in the Dhadar area of Bolan Pass on Tuesday. Gunmen forced the train to stop in a remote, mountainous region, after which they stormed aboard and detonated explosives on the railway track. The banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) immediately claimed responsibility for the assault.

Security sources have confirmed that the attackers were in contact with their mastermind in Afghanistan. The operation against the militants is ongoing, with security forces continuing efforts to eliminate the remaining threats and ensure the safe recovery of all passengers. Islamabad authorities remain on high alert as the situation develops.
