Rawalpindi, March 25, 2025: A fresh controversy unfolded on Tuesday after Babar Awan was granted special permission to meet PTI founder Imran Khan in Adiala Jail, despite not being on the approved visitors’ list.

The meeting was originally scheduled for Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, but tensions flared between PTI’s legal team and the jail administration when Babar Awan was allowed entry.

Senior PTI lawyer Salman Akram Raja confronted jail officials, questioning their decision. “Babar Awan’s name was not on our approved list. Why was he given access?” Raja asked. He emphasized that only individuals authorized by the PTI leadership should be permitted to visit the former prime minister.

PTI Secretary General also objected, insisting that Bushra Bibi had requested Salman Safdar and Usman Gul to be included in the meeting. He argued that the matter had already been settled in the High Court, which ruled that only six designated individuals could visit Khan.

Despite the objections, the jail administration allowed Babar Awan, Niazullah Niazi, and Salman Akram Raja to meet Imran Khan, alongside Zaheer Abbas Chaudhry, Naeem Haider Panjhuta, and Salman Safdar.

The incident has raised concerns over preferential treatment and irregularities in jail policies, adding another layer of controversy to Imran Khan’s ongoing legal battles.
