Mastung, March 29, 2025: A suicide blast occurred near a protest sit-in led by Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M) Chief Sardar Akhtar Mengal in Mastung on Saturday. Fortunately, no casualties were reported.

According to police, the bomber detonated himself during a security check. The Balochistan government spokesperson, Shahid Rind, confirmed that Mengal and other BNP leaders remained unharmed. Authorities have launched an investigation into the attack.

Rind stated that the provincial government is open to dialogue with the protesters and urged BNP leadership to cooperate. He also revealed that government officials had been in contact with BNP leadership since last night, adding that a delegation is set to meet Sardar Akhtar Mengal for discussions.

Following the blast, Mengal condemned the attack, calling it a failed attempt to disrupt their protest. He reassured that all party workers were safe and vowed to continue their struggle.

“A failed attempt to make our protest unsuccessful once again. Alhamdulillah, I’m safe along with all party workers,” Mengal wrote in a post.
