Lahore, April 16, 2025: Players and officials from the participating teams of the ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifier visited the iconic Wagah Border on Wednesday, following an invitation extended by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi.

The visit offered a memorable cultural experience as the players, both local and international, witnessed the flag-lowering ceremony—a powerful display of national pride and military precision. The electrifying atmosphere left a lasting impression on the visitors.

Foreign cricketers, umpires, and match officials enthusiastically joined their Pakistani counterparts in chanting “Pakistan Zindabad” and “Jeeway Jeeway Pakistan”, embracing the spirit of unity and celebration. The dramatic parade by Pakistan Rangers Punjab drew rounds of applause, with many players capturing the moment through selfies and group photos with Rangers personnel.

“This was a truly unique and unforgettable experience. The energy of the Rangers and the crowd was phenomenal,” said several foreign players, praising the precision and discipline on display.

As a gesture of goodwill, Pakistan Rangers Punjab also presented souvenirs to the team captains, symbolizing camaraderie and sportsmanship beyond the cricket field.

The six-team tournament features Pakistan, Bangladesh, Ireland, Scotland, Thailand, and the West Indies, and is being held in a single round-robin format at Gaddafi Stadium and LCCA Ground in Lahore. The top two teams will qualify for the 2025 ICC Women’s World Cup scheduled to take place later this year in India.

Team Pakistan has had an impressive start to the qualifiers, securing victories over Scotland, Ireland, and the West Indies. With matches against Thailand tomorrow and Bangladesh on April 19, the Green Shirts are well-positioned to advance to the semi-finals and move closer to World Cup qualification.
