Islamabad, April 18, 2025: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday lauded the 23% growth in Pakistan’s Information Technology (IT) exports, which reached US$2.828 billion during the first nine months of the current fiscal year (July–March FY25).
In a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, he said the surge reflects the effectiveness of government policies and the dynamism of the country’s IT entrepreneurs, who are successfully expanding into both traditional and new international markets.
“The 23% increase in IT exports has been made possible through the timely provision of facilities to the IT sector and the tireless efforts of the government team,” the prime minister noted.
He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to further enhancing the role of Pakistani professionals in global IT services and export markets.
“We are actively working to provide professional training to our youth, promote the development of the IT sector, and continue expanding our exports,” he added.
Prime Minister Shehbaz expressed confidence that with continued policy support and skilled workforce development, Pakistan’s IT sector would play an even greater role in driving economic growth and foreign exchange earnings.
