Islamabad, May 4, 2025: In response to the growing tensions between Pakistan and India, a high-level briefing on the national security situation will be held today (Sunday) for the top leadership of all political parties.
Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar and Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry are scheduled to deliver the briefing, which will cover the current security environment and its potential implications for the region.
According to informed sources, the session will include a detailed overview of Pakistan’s defence preparedness, recent diplomatic initiatives, and the country’s official position on critical issues.
The development comes amid heightened concerns following the Pahalgam incident, which India has blamed on Pakistan. Earlier this week, DG ISPR Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, in a press conference, categorically rejected India’s accusations, calling them baseless and asserting that India is involved in perpetrating terrorism within Pakistan.
The briefing is seen as part of efforts to foster political consensus and ensure national unity in the face of mounting regional challenges.
