Islamabad, May 16, 2025: Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, along with DG Civil Defense, offered Jumma prayers at Faisal Mosque today as part of nationwide observances marking Youm-e-Tashakur (Day of Expressing Gratitude). The day was declared under the directives of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to commemorate the historic success of Pakistan’s Armed Forces in Operation Bunyan Al-Marsoos, which officials described as delivering a “crushing and humiliating defeat” to India.
Special prayers were held after Friday congregation to honor the martyrs and pray for national prosperity, stability, and continued strength of the military. The Imam of Faisal Mosque praised the valor, professionalism, and sacrifices of the armed forces, calling their victory a symbol of national pride.
Speaking on the occasion, Muhammad Ali Randhawa described the operation as a “golden chapter” in Pakistan’s military history. He emphasized that the Armed Forces have not only defended the nation’s sovereignty with exceptional strategic skill, but also sent a strong message to any future aggressor: Pakistan stands as an unyielding force.
“Youm-e-Tashakur is a day to thank Allah Almighty for blessing Pakistan with fearless defenders,” said Randhawa, adding that the day will now be observed annually to pay tribute to the armed forces and remember the martyrs’ eternal sacrifices. He reiterated that Pakistan’s security and dignity will never be compromised, and the nation stands united with its soldiers.
He further urged the nation to educate the youth about the sacrifices that secured Pakistan’s freedom and security. “We must ensure future generations understand the cost of peace and the price of our independence,” he said, affirming that the nation remains committed to its Armed Forces and ready to stand by them at all costs.
Celebrations were held across the country with national fervor, showcasing deep solidarity with the military and appreciation for their unmatched service and dedication.
