Salaried class urges government to reduce taxes amid rising inflation and economic pressure

Islamabad, May 17, 2025: The salaried class across Pakistan has appealed to the government for an immediate reduction in taxes in light of soaring inflation and increasing economic stress. Public circles argue that under the current tax system, leading a dignified life has become a significant challenge.

Employees report that a substantial portion of their monthly income is deducted in the name of taxes, while the cost of daily living continues to climb. They have called on the Prime Minister and the finance minister to seriously consider this pressing issue and to announce clear, relief-oriented measures without delay.

Public representatives and economic experts have echoed these demands, stating that in the current circumstances, providing relief to the salaried segment is essential to ensure they can maintain a respectable standard of living.
