Quetta, May 21, 2025: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Quetta on Wednesday to assess the law and order situation in the aftermath of the recent terrorist attack on a school bus in Khuzdar, which claimed the lives of five individuals, including three children.

According to the Press Secretary to the Chief Minister of Balochistan, the Prime Minister was accompanied by federal ministers Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Mohsin Naqvi, and Attaullah Tarar. Upon arrival at Quetta Airport, the delegation was received by Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti along with members of the provincial cabinet.

During his visit, Prime Minister Sharif is scheduled to chair a series of high-level meetings and briefings. A special security session focusing on the law and order situation across Balochistan is also expected to be convened.

Meanwhile, both President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned the “cowardly and inhumane” terrorist attack in Khuzdar.

In a statement issued by the Presidency, President Zardari expressed deep sorrow over the tragic loss of life and offered heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. He labeled the attack on schoolchildren as a “despicable crime against humanity” and held India responsible for supporting the terrorist elements behind such atrocities.

“The attack on innocent children is not only inhumane but also part of a calculated attempt to disrupt peace and hinder development in Balochistan,” President Zardari stated. He affirmed Pakistan’s resolve to expose India’s alleged role in sponsoring terrorism at international platforms and to dismantle these networks.

Echoing similar sentiments, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif termed the attack a “savage assault on the future of Pakistan.” Expressing profound grief over the martyrdom of children and teachers, he assured full support to the affected families and directed authorities to ensure the best possible medical care for the injured.

“The targeting of a school bus reveals the terrorists’ hatred for education and progress,” the Prime Minister said. “This barbaric act is a direct assault on our values and our children’s right to a peaceful future.”

He vowed that Pakistan would spare no effort in bringing the perpetrators to justice. “We will relentlessly pursue these Indian-backed terrorists. Their evil designs will be defeated by the unity of our people and the courage of our armed forces.”

The Prime Minister reaffirmed the government’s unwavering commitment to eradicating terrorism in all its forms and safeguarding the peace and stability of the nation.
