Islamabad, May 28, 2025: Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA), Chief Commissioner Islamabad, and Director General Civil Defence, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, visited the newly designated parking facility near the Pak Secretariat on Wednesday. The visit marks a significant step toward resolving the persistent parking challenges faced by government employees and visitors in the heart of the federal capital.

During the site visit, Member Engineering Syed Nafasat Raza briefed Chairman Randhawa on the progress and scale of the project. The new parking area spans approximately 133,729 square feet and is designed to accommodate over 1,000 vehicles, making it one of the largest designated government parking facilities in Islamabad.

The initiative aims to ease congestion for not only Pak Secretariat employees but also for staff and visitors of adjacent government offices.

“This facility stands as a model of CDA’s proactive approach in tackling urban infrastructure challenges. It will significantly alleviate the parking woes that have long plagued the area,” said Chairman Randhawa.

He added that the project reflects CDA’s commitment to enhancing civic services in Islamabad, particularly in high-density administrative zones. The Chairman was informed that construction activities are ongoing across all segments of the site simultaneously, ensuring timely completion through improved coordination and operational efficiency.

Appreciating the efforts of the CDA Engineering Wing, Chairman Randhawa noted that such projects directly contribute to better work environments for public servants and enhanced convenience for citizens.

The new parking facility is part of a broader initiative by the CDA to modernize and expand urban infrastructure across the capital, with a focus on accessibility, sustainability, and public service delivery.
