Quetta, June 1, 2025: A powerful explosion near the Western Bypass in Quetta on Sunday claimed the life of one person and injured four others, according to police officials.

Rescue teams and law enforcement agencies rushed to the scene immediately after the blast. The injured were transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Authorities have cordoned off the area, and a formal investigation is underway to ascertain the cause and nature of the explosion.

This incident comes just a day after another tragic blast in the Sara Ghorgai area on the outskirts of Quetta, where two brothers were killed and seven others injured, according to police sources. Victims in that blast were also shifted to a local hospital, and security forces are continuing their probe.

Balochistan has witnessed a resurgence in sporadic violence in recent months, and Sunday’s incident has further raised concerns about public safety and the security situation in the provincial capital.

Authorities have yet to determine whether the two explosions are connected.
