Islamabad, June 12, 2025: A high-level meeting was held at the Capital Development Authority (CDA) headquarters under the chairmanship of CDA Chairman, Chief Commissioner Islamabad, and Director General Civil Defense, Muhammad Ali Randhawa. The session was attended by key officials, including Member Planning, Member Finance, DG Planning, DG Building Control, DG Spatial Projects, DG Law, DG Islamabad Water, Deputy Commissioner CDA, and other senior officers.

The meeting reviewed the progress of CDA’s ongoing operations against illegal constructions and encroachments across the federal capital. Chairman Randhawa emphasized that strict and indiscriminate action must continue in accordance with the law to ensure the timely execution of all development projects in the city.

A key item on the agenda was the Urban Regeneration Plan, including strategies to provide modern residential facilities under this initiative. The Chairman underscored that addressing the housing needs of Islamabad’s residents remains one of the authority’s top priorities and directed the Planning Wing to formulate a comprehensive strategy for this purpose.

Chairman Randhawa also issued directives to ensure uninterrupted water supply to residents and to improve the city’s drainage and sewerage systems. He called for enhanced monitoring mechanisms to ensure service delivery across these essential utilities.

In addition, the Planning Wing was tasked with devising a structured plan for the development of commercial centers and residential apartments in various sectors of the city, with a particular focus on central and high-demand locations.

The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of CDA’s commitment to sustainable urban planning and the provision of quality civic amenities for Islamabad’s residents.
