Pakistan to tour Bangladesh for three-match T20I series in July: Report

Lahore, June 19, 2025: The Pakistan men’s cricket team is set to tour Bangladesh in July for a three-match T20 International series, with the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) expected to formally announce the schedule next week, according to reports.

As per the proposed itinerary shared with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the matches are slated for July 20, 22, and 24, and will all be played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka.

This bilateral T20I series falls outside the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) Future Tours Programme (FTP) and was arranged through high-level discussions between the two boards during the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which is being jointly hosted by Pakistan and the UAE.

The series will serve as a follow-up to Bangladesh’s recent reciprocal tour to Pakistan, where the visitors were swept 3–0 in a T20I series. That series marked the debut of Mike Hesson as Pakistan’s new white-ball head coach and Salman Ali Agha as the T20I captain.

After the Bangladesh series, Pakistan will head to the West Indies for another white-ball assignment, including a three-match T20I series scheduled to begin on July 31 in the United States.

Although an ODI leg was initially part of the tour, sources indicate that the PCB and Cricket West Indies (CWI) are considering replacing the ODIs with additional T20Is. This shift is being explored to better prepare both teams for the 2025 ACC Men’s Asia Cup and the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

As per the current schedule:

  • T20Is vs West Indies: July 31, August 2, and August 3 (in the US)
  • ODIs (tentative): August 8, 10, and 12 at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy, Trinidad

Final confirmation of both tours is expected in the coming weeks, with potential adjustments to fixtures based on logistical and broadcast considerations.
