Karachi, June 19, 2025: Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif, Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR), on Thursday highlighted the crucial role of students as the frontline force in Pakistan’s evolving information warfare landscape. He made these remarks during a special session with participants of the Saylani IT Programme in Karachi.
Addressing an enthusiastic audience, the DG ISPR praised the youth’s awareness, engagement, and patriotism, especially in the face of national security challenges. He cited the success of Operation Bunyanum Marsoos as a pivotal moment in ensuring peace and countering hostile narratives, reaffirming that Pakistan continues to prioritise peace over conflict.
Responding to questions from students on both internal and external threats, Lieutenant General Sharif stressed that the Pakistan Armed Forces remain a professional and disciplined institution, carrying out their constitutional responsibilities under the direction of the state. He added that Pakistan will continue to play its role as a “net stabiliser” in the region, particularly amid complex geopolitical shifts.
Students in attendance expressed unwavering solidarity with the Pakistan Army, declaring their readiness to defend the homeland on all fronts — whether physical or digital. “We are proud of our armed forces and consider them the embodiment of our national strength,” one student remarked. The session concluded with calls for more such engagements, with students declaring, “Pakistan always lives on.”
A day earlier, the DG ISPR also addressed students at Jinnah University for Women, where he reiterated the significant role of youth in the strategic success of Operation Bunyanum Marsoos, especially in countering disinformation during the recent conflict with India.
He emphasised how Pakistanis — especially students — helped dismantle Indian strategic assumptions, both on the battlefield and in the digital domain.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s territorial integrity, the DG ISPR described Kashmir as the “jugular vein” of Pakistan, and strongly defended the deep religious, cultural, and historical bonds between Balochistan and the rest of the nation. He added that no external force or small group of militants, particularly those sponsored by India, can disrupt Pakistan’s unity with Balochistan.
