Mumbai, June 21, 2025: Aamir Khan’s latest release, Sitaare Zameen Par, is showing strong momentum at the box office, with collections surging significantly on its second day. The film, a spiritual sequel to the 2007 hit Taare Zameen Par, has struck a chord with audiences.
After opening to an impressive ₹10.50 crore on Friday, early estimates suggest that Saturday’s earnings may soar to ₹19.50 crore — marking an 80% jump in day-to-day collections. Final figures will be confirmed after the evening and night show tallies are in, but the upward trend signals growing interest and positive word-of-mouth.
The film marks Aamir Khan’s return to the director’s chair and the screen after a brief hiatus, and revisits the sensitive theme of intellectual disabilities in children — including autism and Down syndrome. Khan plays a mentor once again, echoing his beloved role of Ram Shankar Nikumbh from Taare Zameen Par.
Produced by Aamir Khan along with Kiran Rao, Aparna Purohit, and Ravi Bhagchandka, Sitaare Zameen Par also stars Genelia Deshmukh, Aparna Purohit, and Bhagchandka in key roles.
Speaking to media earlier, Aamir emphasized that Saturday would be a “crucial” day for the film’s long-term success, particularly with the weekend footfall being a key indicator for box office performance.
This marks Aamir’s first on-screen appearance since Laal Singh Chaddha in 2022, where he starred opposite Kareena Kapoor Khan.
Released on June 20, Sitaare Zameen Par continues to receive praise for its emotional depth, social relevance, and performances — and appears poised for a strong opening weekend.
