Islamabad, July 5, 2025: Pakistan made a strong statement in the 32nd Asian Junior Individual Squash Championships 2025, held in South Korea, by bagging a total of seven medals, including two golds in the main event and two golds in plate events, reaffirming the country’s growing strength in junior squash.
According to a press release from the Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF), the national contingent secured 2 gold medals (main event), 2 silver medals, 1 bronze medal and 2 gold medals (Plate Events).
In the Boys U-13 category, Muhammad Sohail Adnan defeated India’s Ayaan Dhanuka 11-5, 11-2, 11-13, 11-6 to claim gold, while in the Boys U-15 final, Nauman Khan secured another gold for Pakistan after a commanding win over compatriot Ahmad Rayyan Khalil with scores of 12-10, 11-6, 11-2.
Meanwhile, silver medals were won by Ahmad Rayyan Khalil (Boys U-15) and Mahnoor Ali (Girls U-13), who narrowly lost to China’s Yin Z in a five-game thriller: 9-11, 11-6, 11-9, 9-11, 12-10.
In the Boys U-19 category, Abdullah Nawaz brought home a bronze medal for Pakistan.
In the plate events, Yahya Khan (Boys U-17) defeated Korea’s Chanyoung K 11-9, 11-7, and Muhammad Mustafa (Boys U-13) triumphed over Hong Kong’s Tse K C 11-3, 11-8 to win golds.
The Pakistan Squash Federation lauded the achievements, stating:
“Pakistan squash is back on track. Winning gold medals at mega international events is a tremendous achievement, and we are proud of our young squash stars.”
This performance marks a significant step forward for Pakistan’s junior squash program and serves as a hopeful indicator for the future of the sport in the country.
