Islamabad, July 9, 2025: A high-level meeting was held at the Capital Development Authority (CDA) Headquarters under the chairmanship of CDA Chairman and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, to review preparations for the upcoming commercial plot auction and discuss major initiatives in sports, hospitality, and tourism.

The meeting was attended by Member Administration & Estate Talat Mahmood, Member Finance Tahir Naeem, Member Environment Esfandyar Baloch, Member Engineering Syed Nafasat Raza, Member Planning Dr. Khalid Hafiz, along with the Director General Resources, Deputy DG Enforcement, Director DMA, Director Sports, and other senior CDA officials.

A key focus of the meeting was the open auction of commercial plots, scheduled to take place from July 15 to 17, 2025. Detailed discussions were held regarding the facilitation of investors and promotion of opportunities across Islamabad’s prime commercial zones, including the auction of approximately 46 commercial plots and shops in Blue Area’s Parking Plaza.

Chairman Randhawa directed officials to ensure that maximum facilities are provided to investors participating in the auction. He instructed that information booths and help desks be set up to guide investors with comprehensive details about the auction process and projects. All relevant CDA departments will contribute data to ensure transparency and ease of access.

Projects being highlighted for investment include the Gandhara Heritage & Citizen Center, hotel plots, a Theme Park, Melody Food Street, Lake-view Park, and various other tourism and hospitality ventures. Under the Directorate of Municipal Administration (DMA), key assets like Saidpur Village restaurants, kiosks at Melody Food Street, digital screens, smart parking, and food courts in the Diplomatic Enclave will also be offered to investors. These projects aim to position Islamabad as a global destination for tourism, sports, and hospitality.

The Director Sports & Culture briefed the forum that, following the directives of Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, CDA’s Planning Wing has earmarked space for 25 football grounds and 25 cricket grounds, with phased development to begin shortly. Space has also been allocated for three futsal grounds and an indoor cricket facility, along with the development of five cricket academies across the capital.

Additionally, sites for multi-purpose sports complexes are being finalized. These facilities will include swimming pools, gyms, indoor sports areas, and coffee shops, providing both athletic and recreational outlets for residents and families.

Chairman Randhawa reaffirmed CDA’s commitment to delivering these transformative initiatives on schedule. He stated that the authority is fully focused on elevating Islamabad’s urban experience, with top-tier recreational, tourism, and investment opportunities that reflect a modern and vibrant capital city.
