Islamabad, July 11, 2025: An important meeting was held at the Capital Development Authority (CDA) headquarters on Friday, chaired by Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa, to review ongoing and upcoming development initiatives in the capital.

The meeting was attended by Member Administration & Estate Talat Mahmood, Member Engineering Syed Nafasat Raza, Member Planning Dr. Khalid Hafeez, along with DG Works, DG E&M, Deputy DG Enforcement, Director DMA, and other senior officials.

Key topics of discussion included the implementation of the citywide beautification plan, survey and maintenance of pedestrian bridges, aesthetic lighting installations, and early operationalization of the Parking Plaza in Blue Area.

Chairman Randhawa directed a comprehensive survey of all pedestrian bridges, emphasizing the need for timely overhauling, structural maintenance, and installation of decorative lights. He also instructed officials to expedite the operational readiness of the Blue Area Parking Plaza to ease parking issues for visitors and businesses.

Focusing on recreational infrastructure, he ordered the upgradation of all major and minor parks, with special attention to F-9 Park and Lake View Park. The directive includes the installation of modern lighting, enhanced walkways, and eco-friendly tree plantations to improve the urban environment and promote tourism.

The chairman also reviewed ongoing efforts to expand Islamabad’s sports facilities, along with plans to introduce cable cars, theme parks, and fun fairs, urging quick completion of feasibility reports for these projects.

On the issue of traffic and road infrastructure, Chairman Randhawa said that improvement works were underway on Expressway, Margalla Road, Club Road, Park Road, and Faisal Avenue, focusing on lane markings, footpath repairs, median beautification, and green belt development. He added that urban forestation and the renovation of key roundabouts would help mitigate air and land pollution in the city.

The meeting was briefed that model highways are being enhanced through landscaping, seasonal flower planting, decorative planters, and wooden signboards, which have garnered positive public feedback. Modern lighting systems are also being installed on these routes.

Chairman Randhawa reiterated his commitment to using all available resources to enhance residential, transportation, sports, and recreational facilities across the capital. He emphasized the importance of delivering high-quality services to residents while maintaining Islamabad’s status as a model city.
