Islamabad, July 17, 2025: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday directed the mandatory inclusion of third-party validation in all public welfare projects to ensure transparency, accountability, and quality — particularly in key sectors such as clean water, electricity, communications, and education.

Presiding over a review meeting on ongoing development initiatives for the current fiscal year, the prime minister emphasized that independent audits are essential to uphold high standards, especially for projects nearing completion. He further instructed concerned departments to fast-track delayed schemes while maintaining strict quality benchmarks.

Reiterating the government’s commitment to inclusive development, the prime minister announced the expansion of Danish Schools — model educational institutions — to Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Jammu & Kashmir, and all provinces. These schools aim to offer international-standard education and training to students from underprivileged backgrounds.

He also underscored the national importance of water reservoir projects, describing them as critical for long-term sustainability and water security. Several such projects are currently underway.

Highlighting advancements in the tech sector, the premier noted that the establishment of state-of-the-art technology parks in Karachi and Islamabad will help position Pakistan as a regional leader in information technology. He added that the development of Special Economic Zones (SEZs) remains a cornerstone of the government’s economic strategy.

During the meeting, senior officials briefed the prime minister on the status of completed and ongoing development projects across various sectors, including infrastructure, education, healthcare, water, energy, and IT. Officials reported steady progress, with multiple projects completed and others advancing on schedule.

The meeting was attended by Minister for Planning and Development Dr. Ahsan Iqbal, Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, and senior representatives from relevant ministries and departments.
