Harare, July 18, 2025: New Zealand continued their dominant form in the T20I tri-series, cruising to an eight-wicket victory over hosts Zimbabwe in the third match at Harare Sports Club on Friday, thanks to Matt Henry’s fiery spell and Devon Conway’s unbeaten half-century.
Opting to bowl first, New Zealand skipper Mitchell Santner saw his bowlers deliver a disciplined performance that restricted Zimbabwe to 120/7 in their 20 overs. Wessly Madhevere top-scored with a cautious 36 off 32 balls, while Brian Bennett (21) and Tony Munyonga (13) offered brief resistance.
The standout for the Blackcaps was Matt Henry, who bagged 4 for 26 in his four overs. He was well supported by Adam Milne, Michael Bracewell, Santner, and Rachin Ravindra, each picking up a wicket.
In reply, New Zealand chased down the modest target with ease, reaching 121/2 in 13.5 overs. The visitors suffered an early setback with the dismissal of Tim Seifert (3), but a 59-run stand between Conway and Ravindra steadied the innings. Ravindra made a brisk 30 off 19 balls before falling to Tinotenda Maposa.
Conway then partnered with Daryl Mitchell (26 off 19)* to seal the win with 37 balls to spare. Conway remained unbeaten on 59 from 40 deliveries, hitting four fours and two sixes, and was named Player of the Match.
With this victory, New Zealand moved to the top of the tri-series table with four points from two matches, while Zimbabwe languish at the bottom, still winless after two games.
