Islamabad, October 06,20240- Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur is not in their custody, nor is he detained by any institution. He mentioned that while there were suspicions about his whereabouts, a raid was conducted, but Gandapur was not found at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House.

Speaking to the media after attending the funeral prayer of police constable Abdul Hameed Shah, who was killed during a protest by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) supporters, Interior Minister Naqvi reiterated that the Chief Minister of KP is not in police or institutional custody.

He explained that Rangers and police conducted a raid at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House for Gandapur’s arrest, but he was not there. When the raid took place, Gandapur had already fled through the main gate. Islamabad Police is currently searching for him. In the coming days, a crackdown on Afghan nationals will also be initiated.

The Interior Minister directed the Inspector General of Islamabad Police to swiftly arrest the miscreants responsible for the violence against Constable Abdul Hameed Shah, emphasizing that those involved in his killing will be brought to justice.

Minister Naqvi also confirmed the existence of footage showing Ali Amin Gandapur fleeing from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House, and that Islamabad Police is actively searching for him.
