California, July 21, 2025: In the wake of a horrifying double murder in Balochistan, the Chairman of Tehreek-e-Inqilab Pakistan, Mohammad Arif, has issued a powerful statement condemning the brutal killing of a young couple in the name of so-called “honour.” The victims, reportedly in love, were taken to a remote desert area and executed — an act that has sent shockwaves across the country after a video of the incident went viral on social media.
Terming the incident “a crime against humanity,” Arif described the killings as a direct assault on the Constitution of Pakistan, human dignity, and basic moral values. “Is love now a crime punishable by death?” he asked, questioning the nation’s silence in the face of such barbarity.
Arif urged the government, religious leaders, civil society, and the general public to reject the culture of violence masked as tribal honour. He demanded decisive and immediate action, including the immediate arrest of all perpetrators, especially those identified in the viral footage, filing of terrorism charges under the Anti-Terrorism Act, legal reforms to declare honour killings a non-bailable, capital offence and a nationwide awareness campaign through schools, media, and mosques to eliminate honour-based violence.
“This was not just a murder; it was a test of our collective conscience,” Arif stated, adding that the state must no longer act as a silent observer in the face of such injustice.
Tehreek-e-Inqilab Pakistan reaffirmed its commitment to standing with every voice demanding justice and opposing systems that shield oppression. “So-called honour killings are neither Islamic nor cultural — they are acts of cowardice, ignorance, and cruelty,” the statement declared.
The party called for an end to societal complicity and urged Pakistanis to unite in demanding justice for the victims, warning: “If we remain silent today, tomorrow’s bullets may be aimed at our own loved ones.”
