Islamabad, July 26, 2025: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Asim Munir reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to building a secure, peaceful, and prosperous regional environment through strategic cooperation and robust defence diplomacy.

The statement came during the Regional Chiefs of Defence Staff Conference, hosted in Islamabad, which brought together senior military leaders from the United States, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the conference marked a significant step in enhancing regional security cooperation, strategic dialogue, and military partnerships.

Held under the theme “Strengthening Bonds, Securing Peace,” the summit focused on multilateral defence collaboration—particularly in the areas of counterterrorism, joint training initiatives, and knowledge sharing.

Participants engaged in in-depth discussions on evolving regional security trends, the shifting geopolitical dynamics in Central and South Asia, and the growing urgency for coordinated responses to transnational threats.

Welcoming the defence delegations, Field Marshal Munir highlighted Pakistan’s central role in fostering peace and regional stability. He emphasized that mutual trust, strategic dialogue, and enhanced military-to-military cooperation are essential to counter emerging hybrid and transnational challenges.

“In an era defined by complex hybrid threats and transnational risks, the imperative for deeper cooperation and mutual confidence among regional militaries cannot be overstated,” said the Army Chief.

He reiterated that Pakistan remains fully committed to working with partner nations to ensure a secure, interconnected, and economically vibrant region.

Delegates from participating countries expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s leadership, hospitality, and forward-looking vision in initiating such a comprehensive platform for regional defence dialogue.

They jointly reaffirmed a shared resolve to uphold national sovereignty, combat terrorism and violent extremism, and tackle emerging challenges such as cyber insecurity through unified strategies.

The conference concluded with a collective call for continued collaboration in defence and security, acknowledging Pakistan’s constructive role in advancing regional peace and solidarity.
