Lauderhill, Florida, August 2, 2025: In a nail-biting finish at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium, the West Indies clinched a dramatic two-wicket win over Pakistan in the second T20I, leveling the three-match series 1-1.
Chasing a modest target of 134, the hosts appeared to be in trouble at 79-5 after 15 overs, thanks to a disciplined spell by Pakistan’s spinners. But a game-changing 16-run penultimate over from Hasan Ali tilted the momentum in West Indies’ favour, leaving just eight runs required off the final over.
Despite a tight final spell from Shaheen Shah Afridi, Jason Holder held his nerve. With three needed off the final delivery, Holder shuffled across and drove a full delivery past fine leg for four—sealing a thrilling win and sparking jubilant celebrations on and off the field.
Holder’s all-round brilliance earned him the Player of the Match award. He not only finished unbeaten on 16 but also took 4 wickets and grabbed two catches, playing a decisive role in all departments. His final shot was hailed as the turning point of the match—a composed yet powerful stroke under immense pressure.
The victory ends a six-match T20I losing streak for the West Indies and injects fresh energy into the Caribbean side ahead of the series decider.
