Dubai, August 20, 2025: South Africa’s Keshav Maharaj has reclaimed the top spot in the ICC Men’s ODI Bowling Rankings after his match-winning performance in the first ODI against Australia.

The 35-year-old left-arm spinner, who was named Player of the Match for his figures of five for 33 in South Africa’s 98-run win in Cairns, moved past India’s Kuldeep Yadav and Sri Lanka’s Maheesh Theekshana to return to No. 1 – a position he briefly held in late 2023.

Elsewhere, West Indies pacer Jayden Seales surged up the rankings after his career-best six for 18 in the series decider against Pakistan, climbing 15 spots to 18th place. Pakistan’s Abrar Ahmed also made gains, jumping 15 places to joint-39th, while West Indies off-spinner Roston Chase rose five places to 58th.

In the Men’s ODI Batting Rankings, West Indies captain Shai Hope moved up two places to ninth after his unbeaten 120 against Pakistan. South Africa’s Aiden Markram climbed to 21st (+4), skipper Temba Bavuma advanced to 23rd (+5), and Australia’s Mitchell Marsh improved to 48th (+6).

The Men’s T20I Rankings also saw movement: South Africa’s rising star Dewald Brevis continued his rise, gaining nine places to 12th among batters. Australia’s Marsh and Glenn Maxwell jumped to 25th (+4) and 30th (+10), respectively.

Among bowlers, Australia’s Nathan Ellis climbed to ninth (+3) and Josh Hazlewood to 18th (+2), while South Africa’s Kagiso Rabada improved from 44th to 37th.
