Equipping industries with skilled workforce, modern technology top priority: PM Shehbaz

Islamabad, August 25, 2025: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Monday reaffirmed that strengthening industries through modern technology and a skilled workforce to boost export-led growth remains the government’s foremost priority.

Chairing a high-level meeting on the National Industrial Policy, he said industry plays a central role in enhancing exports and driving sustainable economic development. The prime minister stressed that long-term solutions were needed to overcome challenges faced by the sector, adding that all stakeholders would be consulted to ensure an inclusive and effective policy framework.

Federal ministers including Ahsan Iqbal, Rana Tanveer Hussain, Ahad Khan Cheema, Abdul Aleem Khan, Jam Kamal Khan, Muhammad Aurangzeb, and Sardar Awais Ahmad Leghari, along with Minister of State Bilal Azhar Kayani, senior officials, and representatives of leading chambers of commerce and industry attended the meeting.
