Dubai, August 27, 2025: Pakistan’s ODI captain Mohammad Rizwan and left-arm pacer Shaheen Afridi have made notable progress in the latest ICC Men’s ODI Rankings, released following the conclusion of the Australia–South Africa series.

Rizwan climbed two spots to 25th place with 592 rating points, while Fakhar Zaman held firm at 28th with 584 points. Among other Pakistani batters, Agha Salman (38th), Imam-ul-Haq (40th), and Saim Ayub (55th) maintained their positions. However, Abdullah Shafique slipped one spot to 99th with 419 points.

Despite Australia’s 2–1 home defeat to South Africa, several of their batters improved: Travis Head moved to joint 11th, Mitchell Marsh jumped to 44th, Cameron Green surged 40 places to 78th, and Josh Inglis rose 23 spots to 64th after a match-winning 87.

At the top of the batting charts, India’s Shubman Gill (784 points) and Rohit Sharma (756) remain first and second, with Pakistan’s Babar Azam steady at third on 739 points.

In bowling, Shaheen Afridi rose to joint 13th alongside India’s Mohammed Siraj with 593 points. Haris Rauf (29th), Abrar Ahmed (39th), and Naseem Shah (45th) retained their places, while Mohammad Nawaz slipped to 67th and Mohammad Wasim Jr. dropped to 75th.

The battle at the top of the ODI bowling rankings has intensified, with Sri Lanka’s Maheesh Theekshana joining South Africa’s Keshav Maharaj in first place on 671 points, and India’s Kuldeep Yadav close behind in third.

South Africa’s Lungi Ngidi was the week’s biggest mover, climbing six places to 28th after taking seven wickets against Australia. Australia’s Sean Abbott (up nine places to joint 48th) and Nathan Ellis (up 21 spots to 65th) also recorded strong gains.
