Imran Khan vows not to bow under pressure, urges nation to join September 27 rally

Islamabad, September 17, 2025: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has reiterated his resolve to resist political pressure, saying he would never accept “slavery” or bow before “injustice,” and called upon the nation to come out in full strength for the party’s September 27 rally.

Speaking to the media after the Toshakhana II case hearing, Khan’s sister Aleema Khan conveyed his message, stating that those who believe he would break under pressure are mistaken. “We will not bow before tyranny. Do whatever you want, but I will not accept slavery,” Imran Khan said, according to her.

He likened the current situation to the era of Yahya Khan, claiming that personal power interests had crushed PTI just as Yahya’s decisions once led to the country’s division. Khan alleged that elections were manipulated despite public support for PTI, the judiciary was curbed through the 26th Amendment, and the media was brought under strict control, undermining democracy and the rule of law.

The PTI founder further said Pakistan was witnessing record-low investment while its debt had doubled, leaving the nation heavily burdened. He also criticized the government’s policy towards Afghanistan, saying Afghan nationals were being expelled after threats to Kabul.

Khan warned that Pakistan’s situation was heading towards that of Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Nepal, adding that PTI had pursued dialogue at every level but was met with fabricated testimonies and harsh punishments of up to ten years.
