New York, September 23, 2025: US President Donald Trump on Tuesday declared that his administration had played a key role in halting several global conflicts, including a potential war between Pakistan and India, while criticizing the United Nations for failing to fulfill its mandate.

Addressing the 80th annual session of the UN General Assembly, Trump claimed, “I have stopped seven wars in the world, including the Pakistan-India war. I did this by talking directly to the leaders of those countries. The United Nations had no involvement in this process.”

Trump questioned the effectiveness of the UN, saying it was not performing up to its potential. “I often wonder what the purpose of creating the United Nations really was,” he remarked.

On the Middle East, Trump called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, blaming Hamas for obstructing progress. “There should be a ceasefire agreement in Gaza, but it has not happened because of Hamas. They must release all hostages,” he said.

Turning to the Ukraine conflict, Trump accused China and India of indirectly funding Russia’s war effort by purchasing its oil. He urged European nations to halt Russian oil imports, warning that the US would impose heavy tariffs on Moscow if it refused to agree to a settlement.

The US president also addressed Iran’s nuclear program, boasting that American forces had successfully targeted Iranian nuclear facilities. “We will never allow Iran to acquire nuclear weapons,” Trump vowed.

Concluding his speech, Trump said he believed his peace efforts warranted global recognition. “Everyone thinks I deserve the Nobel Prize for peace efforts, but I am not interested in awards — I am interested in saving lives,” he said.
