Security forces kill six terrorists in Balochistan’s Dalbandin: Sources

Quetta/Peshawar, October 22, 2025: Security forces killed six members of the outlawed Fitna al-Hindustan group during an intelligence-based operation in the Dalbandin area of Balochistan’s Chagai district, official sources said on Wednesday.

According to the sources, the operation was launched following aerial reconnaissance that identified the militant formation hiding in the mountains. The engagement was described as “timely and precise,” completely dismantling the group’s presence in the area and neutralizing threats to both security personnel and civilians.

In a separate operation in the Shahi Tangi forest of Bajaur district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan forces targeted hideouts and tunnels used by the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), also referred to as Fitna al-Khawarij. One terrorist was killed in an exchange of fire, while several others reportedly fled after sustaining injuries. Weapons, explosives, and communication equipment were recovered from the site, the sources added.

Pakistan has experienced a surge in cross-border terrorist activity since the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan in 2021, particularly in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Islamabad has repeatedly urged Kabul to take decisive action against militant groups launching attacks inside Pakistan from Afghan soil.

Tensions between the two countries escalated earlier this month after Taliban-backed fighters attacked several Pakistani army posts on October 12. In retaliatory strikes, Pakistan claimed to have killed more than 200 Afghan Taliban and affiliated militants, while 23 Pakistani soldiers were martyred.

Following the clashes, Pakistan carried out “precision strikes” in Afghanistan’s Kandahar province and Kabul, targeting multiple militant strongholds. Both countries have since agreed to a ceasefire, with delegations scheduled to meet in Istanbul, Türkiye, on October 25 for further talks.
