Islamabad, October 26, 2025: Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Punjab, Dr. Tariq Saleem, has stressed that establishing a unified education system with one curriculum and one language is vital for Pakistan’s development and national cohesion.
Speaking at the Banu Qabal Entry Test event in Gujrat, organized under the Al-Khidmat Foundation Pakistan, Dr. Saleem said Pakistan’s education sector remains neglected despite the country’s vast resources, leaving the future of millions of children uncertain.
He announced that under the Banu Qabal program, two million youth across Pakistan will receive free IT training aimed at improving their employment prospects. Thousands of students appeared for Sunday’s entry test to secure admission into the program’s free IT courses.
Dr. Saleem deplored that education and employment opportunities remain beyond the reach of many young Pakistanis, noting that over 30 million children are out of school, and only 12 percent pursue higher education after primary school.
He criticised the commercialisation of education, saying rising tuition fees have “turned learning into a business,” depriving underprivileged families of their constitutional right to education.
“Nearly 60 percent of Pakistan’s population consists of youth, yet their potential remains untapped due to government negligence,” he said. “Our youth are being disappointed, and the doors of opportunity are closing on them. We must reverse this trend through a fair, merit-based, and accessible education system.”
Calling upon young people to play a proactive role in shaping the nation’s future, Dr. Saleem urged them to participate in the upcoming Jamaat-e-Islami public gathering at Minar-e-Pakistan, Lahore, from November 21 to 23, where Ameer JI Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman will unveil a comprehensive national action plan.
“The youth should not be disheartened by the current situation,” he said. “Instead, they must rise with Jamaat-e-Islami to transform Pakistan into a true Islamic welfare state. With their power and their votes, we can change the oppressive system imposed on this nation.”
The event was also addressed by Ameer JI Gujrat Ansar Mahmood Dhoul, Advocate and Secretary General Al-Khidmat Foundation, and Waqas Anjum Jafri, who highlighted the organization’s ongoing initiatives for education, skill development, and youth empowerment.
Dr. Saleem reaffirmed that the Banu Qabal program, initiated by Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, reflects JI’s commitment to equipping the youth with free IT education and scholarships in various degree programs to ensure a prosperous and self-reliant Pakistan.
