Islamabad, November 2, 2025: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday congratulated the Independent Group, led by Ahsan Bhoon, on securing a majority of seats in the Islamabad Bar Council and Punjab Bar Council elections.

In a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office Media Wing, the premier extended good wishes to all successful candidates from the Independent Group as well as others who won in the polls.

The prime minister lauded the lawyers’ community for its pivotal role in strengthening democracy, ensuring the dispensation of justice, and safeguarding citizens’ rights.

He expressed confidence that the newly elected representatives of the legal fraternity would continue to perform their duties with integrity, professionalism, and a strong sense of responsibility towards society.

“I strongly hope that you will continue playing your vital role for the judiciary and rule of law,” the prime minister remarked.

Shehbaz Sharif noted that the lawyers’ community had taken a principled stand, voting independently of political affiliations, which paved the way for their success.

The premier also appreciated Federal Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar for his active role in addressing the issues of the legal fraternity and maintaining regular contact with the government on related matters.
