Lahore, November 4, 2025: Ticket holders of the banned Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) from Lahore and central Punjab have announced their decision to part ways with the party, condemning its recent violent protests.

Addressing a press conference in Lahore on Tuesday, the former TLP candidates strongly denounced the group’s demonstrations, calling them unjustified and damaging to national stability. They stressed that “Pakistan must come first”, adding that politics held no meaning if the state itself was at risk.

“It was completely unjustified to hold a rally amid an extraordinary situation,” said one of the former candidates. Former TLP nominee Nauman Khan, while announcing his separation, termed the party’s violent conduct “utterly unacceptable.”

“We cannot support attacks on the state,” he said. “When the state is in danger, politics becomes meaningless. Armed groups even hijacked school vans and damaged both public and private property.” The dissident members reaffirmed their loyalty to Pakistan, declaring that they stood with the state and firmly rejected all forms of violent protest.
