Islamabad, November 6, 2025: Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq hosted a reception in honour of Dr. Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Islamic Parliament of Iran, and his accompanying parliamentary delegation at the Parliament House on Thursday.

The event marked a significant step toward reinforcing the long-standing brotherly ties between Pakistan and Iran.

During the interaction, both sides explored ways to enhance parliamentary cooperation and institutional linkages between the two legislatures. Speaker Ayaz Sadiq emphasized that parliamentary diplomacy plays a vital role in fostering mutual understanding and respect between neighbouring nations. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to expanding collaboration with Iran in trade, energy, border management, and cultural exchange.

Dr. Ghalibaf expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s warm hospitality and reiterated Iran’s desire to deepen cooperation through active parliamentary engagement. He said that closer coordination between the two parliaments could contribute to peace, stability, and development across the region.

The discussion also highlighted the importance of regional connectivity projects aimed at enhancing economic integration and people-to-people linkages. Both leaders agreed that sustained parliamentary dialogue would help address shared challenges and unlock new opportunities for joint progress.

The reception was attended by Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan Dr. Reza Amiri Moghaddam, Members of the National Assembly, and members of the Pakistan–Iran Parliamentary Friendship Group.

The event concluded with a reaffirmation of the mutual commitment to strengthen Pakistan–Iran relations through continued parliamentary engagement and regional cooperation.
