Faisalabad, November 8, 2025: South Africa have won the toss and elected to bat first against Pakistan in the third and final One-Day International (ODI) of the three-match series at the Iqbal Cricket Stadium on Saturday.

Pakistan captain Shaheen Afridi confirmed that fast bowlers Naseem Shah and Mohammad Wasim have been rested, with Abrar Ahmed and Haris Rauf returning to the playing XI. For South Africa, Rubin Hermann makes his ODI debut, while Ngidi replaces Linde in the lineup.

Historically, both sides have faced off 89 times in ODIs, South Africa hold a clear edge with 53 victories, while Pakistan have won 35 encounters. One match ended with no result.

Recent form suggests a contrasting buildup. Pakistan’s last five results read L, W, L, L, W, and the hosts will be eager to bounce back after back-to-back series defeats against New Zealand and the West Indies.

South Africa, on the other hand, enter the contest with momentum following a series win over England. Their last five results stand at W, L, L, W, W, and the Proteas will look to capitalise on their batting-first decision to seal the series.
