Islamabad – Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has confirmed that his party and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) have reached a consensus on the constitutional amendment, with additional consultations held with PML-N leadership in Lahore. Speaking alongside PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari at a press conference in Islamabad, Maulana Fazlur Rehman stated that the government agreed to drop the points his party had previously objected to.

He emphasized that there are no remaining disputes over the bill among the key political parties. PTI has also been included in the consultations, with ongoing discussions taking place. Maulana Fazlur Rehman noted that JUI-F shared its draft with PTI, who then consulted with the party’s founder. He described the founder’s response as positive and constructive.

“PTI requested time until today to respond, and we are waiting for their answer,” Maulana Fazlur Rehman added.

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also addressed the media, affirming that all major political parties have endorsed the draft amendment. He expressed confidence that Maulana Fazlur Rehman would successfully secure PTI’s support for the bill.
