Islamabad, October 20,2024- In light of the political situation arising from the 26th Constitutional Amendment, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has decided not to attend the upcoming Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in Samoa. Instead, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar is expected to represent Pakistan at the summit scheduled for October 24 and 25.

According to sources, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will not participate in the summit. The decision to send Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar hinges on any potential positive developments regarding the 26th Amendment. If the situation progresses, Dar will depart for Samoa to represent Pakistan. Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar will also attend the summit, and if Ishaq Dar travels to Samoa, the Pakistani and Indian representatives will once again come face-to-face at the international event.
