Islamabad, November 13, 2025: Zimbabwe’s national cricket team has arrived in Pakistan to take part in the T20I tri-nation series featuring Pakistan and Sri Lanka, scheduled from November 18 to 29 in Rawalpindi, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed.

According to the PCB, the Sikandar Raza-led Zimbabwe squad will rest on Thursday before resuming training on Friday in preparation for the series.

The tri-series was originally set to begin on November 17, but the schedule was revised following security concerns raised by several Sri Lankan players, who reportedly requested to return home after a recent bomb blast in Islamabad.

In response, Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) assured its players that all safety measures were in place, coordinated closely with the PCB and local authorities. In an official statement, the SLC said:

“Following concerns raised by team members, SLC immediately engaged with the players and assured them that all such concerns are being duly addressed in close coordination with the PCB and the relevant authorities to ensure the safety and well-being of every member of the touring party.”

The board also clarified that any player choosing to leave despite assurances would be replaced immediately to maintain the continuity of the tour, and their actions would be formally reviewed.

Meanwhile, the ongoing ODI series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka has also been revised. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi announced that the second ODI, originally scheduled for Thursday, has been moved to Friday, November 14, and the final ODI will be played on Sunday, November 16.

Chairman Naqvi expressed gratitude to the Sri Lankan team for continuing their tour despite the challenging circumstances, emphasizing the collective efforts of the PCB, local authorities, and security forces in ensuring the safety of all players.
